Incoming Study Abroad students
If you are coming to Bristol for your Study Abroad programme there is some additional specific information you need to know.
This information is for students starting their programme in September 2022. Information for those joining in January 2023 will be provided later in the year.
Finding accommodation
- Direct enrol (non-exchange) students are guaranteed an offer of a place in University accommodation for September entry, if you apply by the deadline.
- Exchange students from institutions outside of Europe are guaranteed an offer for September entry, if you apply by the deadline.
- Exchange students from our European partners are not guaranteed an offer for September of January but are still welcome to apply as a non-guaranteed applicant. Please ensure that you also search for private accommodation options as well as it is unlikely that you will be offered a room university accommodation.
Follow the instructions on the accommodation website for more information.

Sponsored students
If you are coming to Bristol through a programme provider or if your home university is paying your tuition fees on your behalf, you are classified as a sponsored student. Self-financing students
You will receive an invoice for your tuition fees after you have registered. If you want to pay the balance of your fees in instalments, contact the Student Fees team.
Accommodation fees
Your accommodation fees are due when you take up your place in University accommodation. Find out how to pay your accommodation fees.
If you are being sponsored for accommodation, your invoices will be sent directly to your sponsor. If you receive an invoice in error, contact the Global Opportunities team.
